What is a Chromebook?

A Chromebook is a laptop that runs Google's Chrome operating system. It is designed to be used mostly to go online, and has less processing power than a traditional laptop.

Why Chromebooks?

Chromebooks are a good choice for students because of their limitations. Because users run apps through the web rather than downloading programs, there are fewer chances for things to go wrong. Chromebooks can't get viruses. If a student's Chromebook is damaged or glitchy, the student just has to sign in on another and all their settings and content will be synced over automatically. Chromebooks are also very fast to boot up, so there is little time wasted.

Tutorials

Visit the district's Student Chromebook Tutorials page to find out how to do many common tasks like bookmarking websites, taking screenshots, and clearing your cookies and cache. If one of their videos won't play, click it and then click YouTube and it will usually play from there.
